Born in Stuttgart in 1954. 1996 to 1998 study at the Fachhochschule für Kunsttherapie Nürtingen, 1998 to 2004 study at the Freien Kunstakademie Nürtingen in the field of figurative ceramics at Dora Vàrkonyi. Since 2004 ceramic studio Terra Cara in Esslingen.
In designing her work, Gaby Pühmeyer draws inspiration from the world of myths and dreams and nature; as well as symbols that have accompanied human history for millennia. As a material, she chooses clay, as it is like no other material suitable to sculpt plastically in many different ways. All objects are made of roughly clayey clay. It lends a lively structure to the surface of the sculptures and objects.
The use of colors is very important to her, above all, she uses blue, turquoise and white, the colors of the sky, in all shades. Blue is considered a magical and magical color and can thus best contribute to transporting their ideas. For many years she has been working on the subject of animals and humans, and the relationship between humans and animals and their environment has recently increased their influence on their work. Animals are not only important symbols for humans in the outer world, they can also be understood, as in myths and fairy tales, as self-representations of mental processes.
